Original article in Zap2it about our episode on Barbarians Rising on History Channel. It tells a story of a Lucithanian shepherd Viriathus who rose against the Roman Empire on the Iberic Peninsula.
I played the young Roman Marcus, right hand of Vitilius who hunts Viriathus untill one of them dies in an epic battle of revenge.
"If you were saddened by the death of Torstein on "Vikings," it's time to get happy again. Jefferson Hall, the actor who played Torstein, is returning to the History Channel as one of the stars of the eight-part new docudrama series "Barbarians Rising."
This time out, he's taking a page from his old friend Ragnar's playbook in the role of Viriathus, once a shepherd who has since become a rebel barbarian leader. In the above promo, it's clear to see he's going too be bringing the action and brutal violence that makes "Vikings" so special to a brand new era and he won't be giving up his home without a fight.
"We made this land,"Viriathus says. "This terrain is in our blood."
Get ready for an epic telling of the rise and the fall of the Roman Empire, through the eyes of the barbarians.
"Barbarians Rising" premieres Monday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HistoryChannel."
